Core Difference: What Is Deep Leaching & Why It Matters
Deep Leached PCD Cutters
Cobalt is removed 100–200μm deep into the diamond layer. This eliminates cobalt-catalyzed diamond graphitization (softening) at high temperatures (700°C+), making them ideal for deep, hot wells and abrasive formations—common in Nigeria’s Niger Delta.
Non-Leached PCD Cutters
No cobalt removal; the full diamond layer retains cobalt. They are cheaper but lack thermal stability, suitable only for shallow, low-temperature wells (below 500°C) with soft, non-abrasive rock.
Performance Comparison: Deep Leached vs Non-Leached Wholesale Pcd Cutters
| Metric | Deep Leached (Ninestones) | Non-Leached (Generic) |
|---|---|---|
|
Thermal Stability
|
Resists graphitization up to 1100°C | Fails at 650°C |
|
Wear Resistance
|
92%+ diamond volume, lasts 2.5x longer | Glazes quickly, slows ROP |
|
Cost-Efficiency
|
Lower long-term total cost | 20–30% cheaper upfront, 40% more expensive long-term |
Field Case: Deep Leached Wholesale Pcd Cutters in Niger Delta
- Failed after 7 hours
- Thermal graphitization observed
- 4 tool changes required
- Total drilling time: 45 hours
- Ran 24 hours with zero thermal failure
- Only 1 tool change required
- Total drilling time: 28 hours (38% faster)
- 52% lower tool cost vs non-leached
“Ninestones’ deep leached Wholesale Pcd Cutters are a game-changer for our deep wells. They handle the heat and abrasion better than any other brand—we’ve cut downtime by more than half.”
